2.3 Installation procedures
2.3.1 General information
This version is a full delivery. Classical procedure to install from scratch is then used, from the
delivered DVD.
Linux installation
Advise : use the last boot CD version with RedHat Enterprise 4 Update 5, 6,7 or 8 in order to prepare
your system for future High Availability Feature.
Linux Red Hat :
You may experience problems when installing Linux on a Dell PowerEdge 1850 with more than 2GB
of memory. In this case, please add the additional command at boot: “linux mem=524”.
The postInstall.sh script
should be run only once the Tomcat Server has finished the web
applications deployment. The "top" command can be used to check the CPU activity level.
OTS multi PABX node
After an upgrade it’s necessary to check and modify if needed the value NB_TSA in
/etc/tsad.conf file
DNS Server :
A reverse Zone must be declared on the DNS Server with an entry corresponding to the OTUC
Server.

BICS environment:
In BICS environment (Virtualization), you must deactivate the APR functionality.
This configuration is automatically done at the factory, but if you perform an update, you must check
if this parameter still there.
In the folder ‘/opt/Alcatel/Tomcat/bin’ rename folder ‘jni’ to ‘jniold’ for example and restart tomcat
service by typing, as root, service tomcatd restart
Mass Provisioning:
After a mass provisioning operation it is necessary to restart OTUC services:
service otucd stop
service otucd start
If OXEs are handled by IP addresses and not by FQDN in previous releases
If the OXEs are not managed in the DNS, before restoration of database, it is highly
recommended to modify on your OTUC servers the /etc/hosts file with :
@IP + names + FQDN of all your OXEs
