Procedure 15-16 To start an auxiliary database
Perform this procedure to start the auxiliary database software on a station in an
auxiliary database cluster.
1 Log in to the auxiliary database station as the root user.
2 Open a console window.
3 Enter the following to start the database proxy:
# /etc/init.d/samauxdbproxy start ↵
4 Enter the following to start the database:
# /etc/init.d/samauxdb start ↵
5 Close the console window.
Procedure 15-17 To stop an auxiliary database
Perform this procedure to stop the auxiliary database software on a station in an
auxiliary database cluster.
1 Log in to the auxiliary database station as the root user.
2 Open a console window.
3 Enter the following to stop the database proxy:
# /etc/init.d/samauxdbproxy stop ↵
4 Enter the following to stop the database:
# /etc/init.d/samauxdb stop ↵
5 Close the console window.
Caution — Performing this procedure may be service-affecting. Ensure
that you perform this procedure only during a scheduled maintenance
period.
