5.3 5620 SAM licensing
You can view the 5620 SAM license information by choosing Help→5620 SAM
License Information. The license information form shows application information
and lists the licensed modules and packages. It also shows the number of operator
positions included in the license.
The license information form also shows the device licenses and quantities. The
5620 SAM license includes quantities for the number of supported NEs, cards, and
GUI clients. When a licensed quantity is nearly or fully exceeded, the 5620 SAM
raises an alarm. The Devices and Quantities tab displays the consumed and
remaining license quantities. You can export license quantity information to a file.
You can also view license quantity information for a specific NE. The Inventory tab
on the NE properties form displays license information for cards, blades, chassis, and
other equipment specific to that NE. See “Inventory Management Overview” in the
5620 SAM User Guide for more information.
You can also view license information directly from the 5620 SAM license file using
the unzip utility. You should not modify or rename the 5620 SAM license files.
The 5620 SAM license should be updated whenever you purchase new licensing
capacity. The 5620 SAM license update is performed from the console window and
should be done on both servers in a redundant setup.
