If you are testing after the POTS splitter at the customer pre-
mises, you will need to address a different connection config-
uration. The POTS splitter is used to separate the ADSL
signal from the POTS signal. Before the POTS splitter
(toward the ATU-C), the combined ADSL/POTS signal is car-
ried over pins 4 and 5 for 8 pin connections or pins 3 and 4 for
6 pin connections. After the POTS splitter (toward the ATU-
R), the ADSL signal is carried over pins 3 and 6 for 8 pin con-
nections or pins 2 and 5 for 6 pin connections. See Figure 3.
