14.2.3 Routed Packet Services
Local IP addresses must be configured prior to use IP routing.
As the STPro has a preconfigured Net10" address (10.0.0.138),
you can configure IP addresses like 10.0.0.1, 10.0.0.2, ... in your
PCs, or use the STPro DHCP server.
In case another IP address is required, you can set STPro's IP
address via the STPro pages or via a PingofLife.
See sections 14.3 and 20.1 for more information.
The PC IP address can be configured statically (no DHCP) or
dynamically (STPro as DHCP server).
In addition, configure the STPro's IP address as default gateway in
your PCs.
At the DSL side of the STPro IP router, the Routed Ethernet
connection will receive an IP address from the RAS. However, you
can also configure a static IP address for the connection on the
'MER' page. In this case, the STPro will negotiate the acceptance
of this IP address with the remote side.
At the DSL side of the STPro IP router, PPP automatically
negotiates an IP address with its remote PPP peer.
You can configure the PPP local IP address of the STPro. In special
circumstances you can configure a remote IP address for the PPP
connection.
See subsection 11.4.2 for more information.
