Prerequisite Information
Before you start configuring the switch, collect the following network-related
information:

Switch /Loopback
IP address
This switch/loopback IP address is
a logical address that the Wireless
LAN Switch uses to communicate
with other Alcatel Wireless LAN
Switches and Alcatel Access
Points. This IP address is usually
on the same subnet as a layer-3 IP
interface on the switch.
10.200.14.14
Physical interface
for management
This is the physical interface used
to manage the switch.
OmniAccess 4308 and 4324—this
is one of the in-band interfaces.
OmniAccess 6000 —this is either
an in-band interface or the man-
agement port on the switch.
NOTE—The IP address of the physical
management port cannot be on the
same subnet as the Loopback IP
address.
Gigabit Ethernet
1/24 is used for
switch manage-
ment
Switch Role Master—if this is the only Alcatel
Wireless LAN Switch on the net-
work.
Local—if this switch is one of many
Wireless LAN Switches on the net-
work and will be managed by a
master Alcatel switch. (You also
have to provide the IP address of
the Master switch.)
