Charge the battery
The battery can be charged regardless whether the phone is switched on or
off.

I f your battery is brand new (or very discharged), recharge it before use:
the icon will then appear after a short while. A beep will sound when
charging begins.
T he mains socket outlet must be close to the phone and easily accessible.
Y ou can also use the "Set up/Batt. save" option in the Menu.
