3.23 Power saving-related problems
3.23.1 Scheduling is disabled
If scheduling is disabled, perform the check procedure described below.
1. Execute the
show power-control schedule command to check whether the displayed
schedule contains the current time, and isolate the cause of the problem according to the
following table.
Table 3-81: Scheduling problems occurring when the power saving functionality is used and
action to take

Items to check Cause Action
1 The current
time is not
contained.
Check the setting of the
schedule-power-control
time-range configuration
command.
The
schedule-power-contr
ol
time-range
configuration command
has not been set correctly.
• Specify an entry that
contains the current time if
such an entry is not
specified.
• If
action for an entry that
contains the current time
has been set to
disable,
delete the entry for which
disable has been set.
2 The current
time is
contained.
Check whether the functionality
specified with the
schedule-power-control
configuration does not match the
functionality specified to be used
during a normal time range. If
they match each other, see the
Cause and Action columns.
The functionality is
operating as set with the
schedule-power-contr
ol
configuration.
Check the setting of the
schedule-power-control
configuration.
3 Execute the
show system
command, and check whether
(changing suspended) is
displayed for the BSU or PSP
status. If
(changing
suspended) is displayed, see the
Cause and Action columns.
The number of the BSU or
PSP units currently
operating is insufficient.
To perform BSU or PSP
power control, a redundant
BSU or CSU configuration
must be implemented. For
details about redundant
configurations, see the
Configuration Guide.
4 Execute the
show logging
command to display the log.
Confirm that the system time was
not changed within 30 minutes
before the start or end time of the
schedule. If the system time was
changed, see the Cause and
Action columns.
A time error has occurred
in the schedule due to the
change of the system time.
Wait a while. The schedule
will start within 30 minutes.
For notes on changing the
time, see the Configuration
Guide.
