3.6 Setting the time
Set the time zone and the time.
The following example shows the procedure for setting the time zone as Japan and the time to December
1st, 2005, at 15:30.
This completes the procedures necessary for the initial installation, including setting the time, setting the
password for administrator mode, adding a new user ID, and deleting the default user ID.
If the configuration is changed, the ! symbol appears before the prompt. This symbol
disappears when the configuration is saved.
After the time has been set for the switch, the correct time is maintained for 10 days after the
switch has been turned off. After 10 days, you must set the time again the next time you turn
on the switch.
The time zone setting is retained in the configuration when the power is turned off. Even after
10 days have elapsed, there is no need to reset the time zone.
