command. If an interface is set as a trunk port and allowed vlan
is not set, all frames on the applicable interface are discarded.
2. If the applicable interface is set as a protocol port, set the protocol VLAN by using the
switchport protocol command. If the protocol VLAN is not set, the applicable
interface operates as an access port.
3. You cannot make changes using this command if the following commands are set for
the applicable interface:
 dot1x port-control
 mac-authentication port
 web-authentication port
