TIMER OPERATION

Timer playback/Alarm
You can turn on the player at a specified time every
day with the built-in timer, and you can also use the
player as an alarm clock.
Make sure the clock is set correctly.

Press OPERATE to turn on the player.

Select the function, CD, RADIO or TAPE.
CD or RADIO: The selected source starts
playback at a specified time.
TAPE: The player can be used as an alarm clock.
Beep sound rings at a specified time.

Hold down ALARM/TIMER until the hour
flashes.
Timer Alarm

Press r or t to specify the hour of
the timer/alarm-on time, and press
ALARM/TIMER.
The hour stops flashing and the minute starts
flashing.

Press r or t to specify the minute
of the timer/alarm-on time, and press
ALARM/TIMER.

Prepare the source for the timer.
RADIO: Select the band and tune in the desired
station.
CD: Load the CD.

Turn off the player after adjusting the
volume.
The symbol mark remains lit on the display to
indicate the player is in timer/alarm standby
mode.
Note
Do not try timer playback of the tape and timer
recording. Doing so causes malfunction for the player or
damage to the tape.
Tips
• The alarm volume cannot be adjusted.
• The alarm beeps for about 5 minutes and stops.
•When using the player after setting the timer/alarm,
repeat steps 2, 6 and 7.
•You can change the mode, to timer or to alarm, after
completing all the steps. Repeat steps 1, 2, 6 and 7.
When changing the mode while the power is off, you
cannot check it on the display.
To check the timer/alarm-on time
Press ALARM/TIMER while the power is on.
The time is displayed for 4 seconds.
To cancel the timer/alarm standby mode
Press ALARM/TIMER repeatedly until the symbol mark
( or

) disappears.
To restore the standby mode, press it again.
To stop alarm sound
Press ALARM/TIMER or OPERATE.
To reset the timer/alarm
Repeat all the steps again.
