TAPE OPERATION

•Use Type I (normal) tapes only.
• The player plays (records on) the side facing up.
Playing a tape

Select TAPE with the function switch.

Press sz STOP/EJECT to open the
cassette compartment and insert a
recorded tape.
Then close the compartment.

Press c PLAY.
Playback starts.
During tape operation, “TAPE” is displayed.
c PLAY button has a tactile dot.
Additional operations
sz STOP/EJECT - Stops play.
a PAUSE - Pauses play. To resume play, press
again.
g FF, f REW - Fast-forwards or rewinds a tape.
To stop the winding, press sz.
Recording on a tape

Press sz STOP/EJECT to open the
cassette compartment and insert a blank
tape.
Then close the compartment.

Get ready to record from the source.
To record from a CD, select CD with the function
switch and load the CD.
To record from a radio broadcast, select RADIO
with the function switch and tune in a station.

Press w REC to start recording.
c PLAY is pressed simultaneously.
When the selected function is CD, CD play and
recording starts simultaneously.
Additional operations
sz STOP/EJECT - Stops recording.
a PAUSE - Pauses recording. To resume recording,
press again.
Tips
• E, r, t and STEREO/MONO do not work
during recording.
•Volume or tone adjustment does not affect recording.
• For the best results, use the AC power as a power
source when recording.
• To erase recording, select TAPE with the function
switch and insert a tape. Then press w REC.
If a high-pitched sound is heard during AM
recording, press s repeatedly to display “BEAT 1”,
“BEAT 2” or “BEAT 3”, and select the position that
eliminates the noise.
