Setting the clock
When the AC power code is connected for the first time,
the clock display flashes. Set the time while the power
is on.

Press OPERATE to turn on the player.

Hold down CLOCK until the hour flashes.

Press r or t to designate the hour.

Press CLOCK.
The hour stops flashing and the minute starts
flashing.

Press r or t to designate the
minute.

Press CLOCK to complete the setting.
The clock starts from 00 seconds.
To display the current time while the power is on
Press CLOCK. To cancel, press it again.
While setting the timer and alarm, the clock display will
not appear.
To switch to the 12/24-hour standard
In steps from 2 to 5 above, press s.
In the 12-hour standard, “AM 12:00” indicates midnight
and “PM 12:00” indicates noon.
If the clock display flashes
This is caused by a power interruption. Reset the clock.
Before use
To turn on the player
Press OPERATE.
After using the player, press it to turn off.
The clock display appears on the display.
•Pressing SLEEP also turns on the player with the
sleep timer on.
To select the functions
Set the function switch to TAPE, RADIO or CD.
The back-light for the display window is off:
- While the power is off.
- While using the player on the batteries.
- While the sleep timer is on.
Sound adjustment
Volume and tone adjustment does not affect recording.
Volume
Turn VOL.
Before turning on the player, turn the volume down.
T-BASS system
The T-BASS system enhances the realism of low-
frequency sound.
Press T-BASS to turn it on or off.
To listen with the headphones
Connect headphones with a stereo mini plug to the
PHONES jack. The sound is not output from the
speakers.
