CONNECTING TO POWER
The ProST is powered from an outdoor AC/DC power adapter that is connected to a 110/240 VAC
power source. ProST is a DC-powered device requiring 48 VDC at 24W max. (assuming up to 100-m
cable length between ProST and AC/DC power adapter). Additionally the ProSt can be powered by
the SDA-1 Type II, SDA-4S Type II or the SDA-4S/VL, optional internal integrated LAN switches.
The outdoor AC/DC power adapter connects to the ProST through the ProST's 15-pin D-type port.
The AC/DC power adapter is mounted on the same pole (or wall) as the ProST, and provides a 60-
cm power cable for connecting it to the ProST.
Warning: Do not install the outdoor AC/DC power adapter during adverse weather
conditions when the threat of lightning strike or rain is possible.
Warning: To prevent electrical shock, while connecting the AC power cord to the
power adapter, ensure that the AC power cord is not connected to the power outlet.
Warning: Connect the AC/DC power adapter to the power outlet only after the AC/DC
power adapter is fully assembled.
Connecting AC/DC Power Adapter
The AC/DC power adapter provides a 60-cm cable with a 15-pin D-type male connector pre-
terminated on the end for connection to the ProST's 15-pin D-type port. The connector pinouts for
the 15-pin D-type are listed below:
Pin Function 15-pin D-type Male
1 +48V
9 +48V
2 GND
10 GND
Before connecting the power adapter to the ProST, you need to connect the AC power cable (that
connects to the subscribers power outlet) to the adapter, as described in the following procedure.
To connect the AC/DC power adapter:
1. Remove the power adapter's cover by using a Philips screwdriver to unscrew the four
screws located in each of the four corners.
