MANAGING A NETWORK OF SERVER SITES

When managing large networks it is sometimes impractical to view the whole system as

graphical elements. In order to be able to effectively manage multiple sites the Equipment

View should as much as is practical be set up as object lists

Object lists allow more information to be displayed on the screen than would be available

in GUI views.

Figure 1-1 shows an Equipment View set up as object lists.

Selecting a particular object will allow the use of the menu to edit the properties of the

object, delete the object or create a child element.

Double Click the mouse on an object listed in the Network[Object List, Server] window

will display the queued operations at the Server. This will give an indication of how

current the Equipment View display is.

Double Click the mouse on an object listed in the Network[Object List, Site] window and

the GUI Site View will be displayed.
