a) Alarm Indications
AS8100 (Sitespan) : ‘Switch to Battery’,
followed some hours later by ‘Low Battery’,
followed some tens of minutes later by ‘Modem Card:Lost Comms With ST’.
Most Likely Fault Cause
Mains power disconnected from ACPSU. ( Type 2 PSU).
Repair Actions
Ask customer to check mains supply. If OK and the yellow LED is Off send
maintenance staff to the customers site with a new ACPSU. Go to DLP-022
b) Alarm indications
AS8100 (Sitespan) : ‘Modem Card:Lost Comms With ST’.
Most Likely Fault Cause
a) If using Type 2 PSU. If this occurs as a single or in multiple occurrences
without any ‘Switch to Battery’ indications send maintenance staff to check ST
installation.
b) Other types of PSU suspect power / Power supply failure.
Repair Actions
Use flowchart process to locate fault and it is advisable to take replacement CRU
Drop Cable and ACPSU.
c) Alarm Indications
AS8100 (Sitespan) : ‘Poor BER’ from ST CRU.
Most Likely Fault Cause
Multiple occurrences indicate a problem with the radio path.
Repair Actions
Send maintenance staff to check AGC and Power Control.
