MONITOR CARD (MON) ALARMS

Alarm Indications

AS8100 (Sitespan) : ‘Monitor:FRU Fail’

Rack: Major/Prompt

Modem Shelf Alarm Panel: Fault Alarm

Card Alarm: Monitor Card Fail

Probable Cause

a). Card failure

b). Monitor Card PSU failure

Consequences

Messages/ alarms will not be passed from the monitor card to the

SC cards.

Maintenance Clear Strategy

Change Monitor Card

STEP PROCEDURE

Observe full ESD precautions.

1. Press Receive Attention on the modem shelf cover to suppress alarm.

2. Change Monitor card. Use the board extractor lever to remove the card from the shelf.

Replace the card ensuring that the card is located within the shelf card guides. Use the

extractor lever to ensure that the card locates properly. Observe full anti-static

precautions.

STOP. THIS PROCEDURE HAS BEEN COMPLETED.
