è To Back Up Conﬁgurations:

NOTE: Commands may vary depending on the communications

program used.

1. In the terminal emulation program, set Save to File to “On”.

2. Select Conﬁguration from the Main Menu then select Dump.

The following message appears:

Enter one of [all, non-default, distributable]:

n All: The entire conﬁguration will be displayed.

n Non-default: Only the conﬁguration options that are different

from the original default settings will be displayed.

n Distributable: Only the conﬁguration options that are not con-

sidered unique to this unit are displayed. You may use the “diag-

nostics load distribute” command to send this conﬁguration to

other units in the infrastructure.

3. Enter one of [standard, encoded] :

n Standard: The conﬁguration is displayed in normal readable

text form.

n Encoded: The conﬁguration is displayed with each conﬁgura-

tion command replaced by a unique number. This type of conﬁg-

uration is the best to save since the number will never change

over the life of the product. Text may change or move as more

items are added to the menus. The conﬁguration commands will

now appear on the screen.
