LinkStat Register (I/O offset 0x10)
Bit #1514131211109876543210
Name
Loss
sync
00000000000EventCode
This register is used to read information that qualifies a Link event generation. Link events are generated
by an asynchronous connection control process initiated by the Enable command. Link event
information availability is signaled by the Link bit in the EvStat register. Subsequent Link event
information can only become available after availability of the current Link event information is
acknowledged with the EvAck.LinkAck bit.
The following are the LinkStatus values returned by the PC4500/4800.
0x8000 Loss of sync -- missed beacons
0x8001 Loss of sync -- max retries
0x8002 Loss of sync -- average retry level (ARL) exceeded
0x8003 Loss of sync -- host request
0x8004 Loss of sync -- TSF synchronization
0x81xx Deauthentication (reason code in low byte)
0x82xx Disassocation (reason code in low byte)
Possibly due to AP max retrying on a packet to station.
0x84xx Association failed (status code in low byte)
0x03xx Authentication failure (status code in low byte)
0x0400 Associated
Note, the upper bit of Link Status is set if the station is not associated.
The following reason codes are defined by the IEEE 802.11 standard:
Reason Code Meaning
0 Reserved
1 Unspecified Reason
2 Previous Authentication no longer valid
3 Deauthenticated because sending station
is leaving (has left) IBSS or ESS
4 Disassociated due to inactivity
5 Disassociated because AP is unable to
handle all currently associated stations
6 Class 2 frame received from non-
Authenticated station
7 Class 3 frame received from non–
Associated station
8 Disassociated because sending station is
leaving (has left) BSS
9 Station requesting (Re)Association is not
Authenticated with responding station
10 - 65535 Reserved
Note: For IBSS mode, a Deauthentication notification may not have the 0x8000 bit set.
