AWCSETEE Operation
A DOS-based utility called AWCSETEE is available for setting the EEPROM in the PC4500/4800 to
specify the country of operation. Different countries have different sets of frequencies that are allowed in
the 2.4GHz band. In order to operate on the correct frequencies, the country code must be set in the
EEPROM that will tell the firmware which frequencies to operate on. When the PC4500/4800 is
ordered, it is programmed to operate in the country to which it will be shipping. If it becomes necessary
to change the country of operation from the original setting, the AWCSETEE utility must be run.
The following is a partial list of what is displayed when AWCSETEE is run with no command line
options:
USAGE: AWCSETEE [-d] [country]
-d - display information about the PC4500/4800
-power - limit transmit power, value in milliwatts
(0 removes limit)
country - country of operation from one of the following
NA (North America)
ETSI (Europe except Spain/France)
JAPAN
SPAIN
FRANCE
ISRAEL
-h Displays help information about AWCSETEE
The AWCSETEE utility can be used to just display the radio’s current EEPROM contents by running it
with the -d parameter. The command line would be:
awcsetee -d
To set the PC4500/4800 to run on the North American channel set, use the following command line:
awcsetee NA
To set the PC4500/4800 to run on the ETSI channel set, use the following command line:
awcsetee ETSI
To set the transmit power on the PC4500/4800, enter the value in milliwatts. For a 100 milliwatt
transmit output, one would enter:
awcsetee –power 100
