4 - 2 Ethernet or Token Ring Bridge

Overview

When conﬁguring the radio network, all units should be conﬁgured

while in close proximity to each other. This will allow your units to

communicate with other radio nodes on your infrastructure as the units’

parameters are set.

Once conﬁguration is complete, the units can then be moved to their

permanent location. Tests can be run to check the reliability of the radio

links. See “Running a Link Test (Linktest)”.

The radio network parameters should be set in the order shown below:

1. Establish a system identiﬁer.

2. Select a rate.

3. Enable root or repeater mode.

4. Set any extended parameters (optional).

CAUTION: Changing any of the radio parameters after you have com-

pleted your conﬁgurations will cause the unit to drop all radio connections

and restart with the changes you have made. Consequently, there will be

a disruption in radio trafﬁc through the unit.
