Configuring PSP Parameters
Use the PSP parameters to configure the PSP (Power Saving Protocol).
These parameters affect throughput, response time, and battery conser-
vation and apply only to the PSP registration modes. The parameters
should only be modified by experienced users.
When you select PSP Parameters, the following Window appears.
Menu Descriptions
Poll Period - Sets the time that the Aironet Client Card will wait to poll
the Router for waiting data, if no other transmissions have occurred. The
units of this parameter are 0.001 seconds. Values can be entered in Dec-
imal Mode or Hexadecimal Mode. The value 0 causes a time of 2.000
seconds to be used.
Fast Poll Delay - Specifies the time before the Fast Poll Period takes
effect after the transmission of a data packet. This parameter is useful in
transaction based environments where the host takes a minimum amount
of time to generate a response. Values can be entered in Decimal Mode
or Hexadecimal Mode.
Fast Poll Period - Sets the time that the device will wait to poll the
Router for waiting data, once a non-empty data frame is either received
or transmitted. This time must be less than the Poll Period to have an
effect. The units of this parameter are 0.001 seconds. Values can be
entered in Decimal Mode or Hexadecimal Mode. The value 0 causes a
time of 0.125 seconds to be used. Only used in PSP registration mode.
