5. Close the SMART Board Settings and the SMART Board Control Panel dialog boxes.
Customizing the Tool Strip
You can use the tool strip on the right side of the slate’s workspace to activate functions and
launch software by pressing the appropriate icon with the pen. If you like, you can customize the
strip for easy access to the functions and software that you use most frequently.
1. Press the SMART Board icon in the system tray (Windows computers) or in the Dock
(Macintosh computers), and press Control Panel.
The SMART Board Control Panel dialog box appears.
2. Press Pen and Button Settings.
The SMART Board Settings dialog box appears.
3. If the SMART Board Settings dialog box shows more than one SMART product, press
AirLiner.
4. Select Set Up Icon Strips from the drop-down list.
Select Tool Strip from the list of currently defined icon strips and select Edit.
Middle-Click Middle-click.
NOTE: This is the default setting for the wheel button of the cordless
mouse.
Floating Mouse Prevents you from clicking or double-clicking with the pen.
NOTE: This option is included for other SMART products and isn’t
appropriate as a setting for the slate.
Keyboard Launches the on-screen keyboard.
Floating Tools Launches the Floating Tools.
NOTE: This is the default setting for the left function button.
Notebook Software Launches Notebook software.
NOTE: This is the default setting for the right function button.
Screen Capture Launches the screen capture tools.
