SERVICE AIR FILTER
• Neverstartandruntheenginewiththeaircleaner
assembly or the air lter removed.
• RemovethecoverB as shown in gure 19.
• Topreventdebrisfromfallingintothecarburetor,
carefully remove the pre-cleaner D and lter C from
the air lter base F. See gure 19.
• GentlytapthelterConahardsurfacetoloosen
debris. If the lter is excessively dirty, replace with a
new lter. See gure 19.
• Removethepre-cleanerDfromthelterC.Seegure19
• Washthepre-cleanerDinliquiddetergentandwater.
Allow the pre-cleaner to thoroughly air dry. Do not oil
the pre-cleaner.
• Assemblethedrypre-cleanerDtothelterC.
• InstallthelterCandpre-cleanerDtoairlterbaseFand
onto stud G. Make sure lter is properly assembled to air
lter base and secure with fastener E. See gure 19.
• InstallthecoverBandsecurewithfastenerA.Make
sure fastener is tight. See gure 19.
WARNING: Fuel and its vapors are
extremely ammable and explosive. Fire
or explosion can cause severe burns or
death.

REMOVING THE IMPELLER
1. Remove the outer impeller housing assembly.
2. Remove the bolt from the impeller hub. See gure 20.
3. Screw three 3/8" x 2" full thread bolts into the three nuts
welded to the impeller until they contact the housing
behind the impeller. See gure 20.
4. Continue screwing in the bolts about 1/2 turn at a time
in sequence until the impeller breaks free from the
engine drive shaft.
WARNING: Always stop the engine
and remove the spark plug wire before
working on the engine or the impeller
housing assembly.
