Voltage output check
The following steps verify basic voltage functions with no
load.
1 Turn on the power supply.
The power supply starts up for the first time in the
power- on (reset) state — all the outputs are disabled (the
OFF annunciator is turned on).
2 Enable the outputs.
Press the [All On/Off] button once. Notice that the display
is in the meter mode.
3 Press [1] or [2] to switch between Output 1 and Output 2
(the OUT1 and OUT2 annunciators will turn on and off
respectively). Check that the front- panel voltmeter
properly responds to the knob control for both outputs.
Turn the knob clockwise or counterclockwise to check
that the voltmeter responds to the knob control and the
ammeter indicates nearly zero.
4 Ensure that the voltage can be adjusted from zero to the
full rated value by adjusting the knob.
5 Disable the outputs, and turn off the power supply.
Current output check
The following steps verify basic current functions with a
short across the power supply output.
1 Turn off the power supply.
2 Connect a short across the (+) and () output terminals of
Output 1 with an insulated test lead.
Use a wire size sufficient to handle the maximum current
(refer to the American Wire Gauge standard).
NOTE
For subsequent power cycles, the power supply returns to the last
power-off state (when power is applied) by default.
