Performance Verification Tests
Use the performance verification tests to verify the
measurement performance of the instrument. The
performance verification tests use the instrument's
specifications listed in the U8030A Series User's Guide
(available for download at www.agilent.com/find/U8030).
The performance verification tests are recommended as
acceptance tests when you first receive the instrument. The
acceptance test results should be compared against the
one- year test limits. After acceptance, you should repeat the
performance verification tests at every calibration interval.
If the power supply fails the performance verification tests,
adjustment or repair is required.
Constant voltage (CV) verification
Voltage programming and readback accuracy
This test is to verify that the voltage programming and
readback accuracy are within the published specifications.
Procedure:
1 Power off the power supply, and connect a multimeter
between the (+) and (–) terminals of the output to be
tested. Remove the electronic load or resistor block as
shown in Figure 1- 1, to operate it as an open circuit.
2 Power on the power supply.
3 When the power supply is in the limit mode, program the
output voltage to 0 V and the output current to the
maximum programmable value.
4 Enable the output.
NOTE
Ensure that you have read the “Test Considerationson page 5 before
running the performance verification tests.
