Low Range Current Measurement
Step 1. Connect only the current measurement terminals of the Agilent
3458A to the output terminals.
Step 2. Select the low-current measurement range. The value to program a
range must be the maximum current of the range. This example
selects the 100 mA range of output 1.

Then select the Low1 range.

Step 3. Select the first current calibration point. For models N6761A and
N6762A only, wait a minimum of 5 minutes for the internal
temperature to stabilize.
Front Panel: SCPI Command:
Select Next. The ammeter should be connected.
Wait 5 minutes for models N6761A and N6762A.
Select Next. The information field should
indicate:“Enter measured current”

Step 4. Measure the current with the Agilent 3458A and enter the value.

SCPI Command:
Select the Measured Data field. Enter the data
from the external DMM. Press Select when done.
Press Next to finish calibration.

Steps 5 and 6 only apply to models N6761A and N6762A.
Step 5. Disconnect the Agilent 3458A from the output terminals. Then select
the second current calibration point.
Front Panel: SCPI Command:
The second calibration point is automatically
selected. “Disconnect Meter” should be displayed.
Press Select when done.

Step 6. Wait a minimum of 5 minutes for the internal temperature to
stabilize. Then select the third current calibration point.
Front Panel: SCPI Command:
The third calibration point is automatically
selected. “Wait 5 minutes, press Next” should be
displayed. Wait 5 minutes and select Next.
