Measuring Channel Power
Measures the power and power spectral density in
the channel bandwidth specified. One pair of
vertical lines of the displayed green frame indicates
the edges of the channel bandwidth. The center
frequency, reference level, and channel bandwidth
must be set by the user.
The power calculation method used to determine
the channel power is a traditional method known
as the integration bandwidth (IBW) method. A
swept spectrum is used as the basis for this
calculation. Therefore, it is important to set the
resolution bandwidth correctly before making this
measurement using the following formula:
Where k is a value between 1.2 and 4.0 and n is
the number of trace points.
Center Frequency
Sets the center frequency of the display.
Key Access: [MEAS] > {Channel Power} > {Center Freq}
Integration Bandwidth
Specifies the bandwidth of integration bandwidth,
which can range from 100 Hz to 3 GHz to calculate
the power in a channel. For example, set the main
(center) channel bandwidth. Note that the green
frame indicates the integration bandwidth. Change
the integration bandwidth using the knob, the
arrow keys, or the numeric keypad.
