External Reference (Ref)
Use the external reference function as follows:
1 Input a 10 MHz signal to the EXT TRIG IN/REF IN
connector.
2 Press [SYS] > {Setting} > {Input/Output Ref} to
enable
the external reference signal input.
The analyzer then turns off its internal reference.
External Trigger (Trig)
When an external TTL signal is used for triggering
function, the analyzer uses the inner reference as
default.
Use the external trigger function as follows:
1 Press [SYS] > {Setting} > {Input/Output Trig} to enable
the external TTL signal input.
2 Press [SPAN] > {Zero Span} to activate the Trigge r
function.
3 Access the associated softkeys to select the
rising edge (Ext Rise) or the falling edge (Ext Fall)
as the trigger threshold.
Adding an Option
Pressing [SYS] > {More} > {Option} > {Add Option} brings
up a dialog box for entering the option license
code. Use the numeric keypad to input the option
license code and then use the [ENTER] key as a
terminator. If the analyzer recognizes the option
license code, a message “Option activated
successfully” will appear in the status line.
Otherwise, a message “Invalid option licence” will
appear in the status line.
Press [SYS] > {More} > {Option} > {Show
Option} to view
the installed options.
NOTE
The trace will halt in external trigger mode till the trigger
threshold is met or the free run function is activated.
