Standard Event Status Register Query
*ESR?
Queries and clears the standard event status event register.
(This is a destructive read.) The value returned reflects the
current state (0/1) of all the bits in the register.
Range: Integer, 0 to 255
Example: *ESR? returns a 1 if there is either a query or command
error, otherwise it returns a zero.
Identification Query
*IDN?
Returns an instrument identification information string. The
string will contain the model number, serial number and
firmware revision. The response is organized into four fields
separated by commas. The field definitions are as follows:
• Manufacturer, model, serial number and software version.
Example: *IDN? returns instrument information, such as:
Agilent Technologies, N9320A, 45310116, A.01.02
Key access: > More > Show system
Operation Complete Query
*OPC?
Returns a “1” if the last processing is complete. Use this
query when there’s a need to monitor the command
execution status, such as a sweep execution.
