Single
If the N8201A is in continuous sweep mode and not in a measurement (Measure, Meas
Off), pressing Single changes the sweep control to single sweep, and executes a sweep
after the trigger condition is met. If the N8201A is already in single sweep, pressing Single
executes a new sweep after the trigger condition is met.
Some instrument settings require more than one sweep to complete the measurement (see
“BW/Avg" on page 91), or if you have selected a measurement from the functions under
the MEASURE key, this function sets the trigger system to be initiated only once. In this
case the trigger condition can be met only once and then all the necessary sweeps will be
executed to make the measurement or complete the averaging function.
With Average on (BW/Avg, Average (On)), pressing Single resets the average trace and
starts the average again from a count of zero. Sweeps are averaged until N sweeps are then
taken (where N is the average number), and then the sweep is halted.
