To tailor the default ﬁlter/settings

1 Use the items on the Settings menu of the base window

to conﬁgure the settings you want as the default.

2 Choose File➤Save Filter/Settings… from the base

window.

3 Specify the ﬁle name protanal.default in the Net-

Metrix search path.

To have the current settings be Protocol Analyzer’s default settings,

specify the ﬁle name protanal.default in the NetMetrix search path.

The search path is the current directory, the environment variable

NETM_DIR, program_path/../config, and /usr/netm/config.

Caution

When you load the defaults, any settings you have conﬁgured with items

on the Filter and Settings menus are discarded; they are replaced with

the defaults.

To keep a conﬁguration, be sure to save it before you load the defaults.
