The oscilloscope trigger circuitry helps you locate the waveform you want
to view. There are several different types of triggering, but the one that is
used most often is edge triggering. Edge triggering identifies a trigger
condition by looking for the slope (rising or falling) and voltage level
(trigger level) on the source you select. Any input channel, auxiliary input
trigger, or line can be used as the trigger source.
The commands in the TRIGger subsystem define the conditions for
triggering. Many of the commands in the TRIGger subsystem are used in
more than one of the trigger modes. The command set has been defined to
closely represent the front- panel trigger menus. As a trade-off, there may
be less compatibility between Infiniium Oscilloscopes and command sets
for previous oscilloscopes. Infiniium Oscilloscopes still accept some
commands for compatibility with previous instruments. An alternative
command that is accepted by the oscilloscope is noted for a particular
command.
