DIFFerential1 refers to the differential signal between channels 1 and 3
(and COMMonmode3 refers to the common mode channel between these
same channels). DIFFerential2 refers to the differential signal between
channels 2 and 4 (and COMMonmode4 refers to the common mode
channel between these same channels).

A function may be used as a source for another function, subject to the
following constraints:
F4 can have F1, F2, or F3 as an operand.
F3 can have F1 or F2 as an operand.
F2 can have F1 as an operand.
F1 cannot have any other function as an operand.
