Chapter 5: Replacing Assemblies

To remove the backplane assembly from the acquisition/optional MSO assembly

To remove the backplane assembly from the

acquisition/optional MSO assembly

1 Remove the entire acquisition/backplane/optional MSO assembly as described

in the previous section.

2 Remove the four M4 screws (two per acquisition assembly) on the side of the

backplane assembly (Figure 5- 36). If the scope is an MSO model, also remove

the two M4 screws connecting the MSO assembly.

3 Disconnect the cables circled in red in Figure 5- 36.

Disconnect the two semi- rigid cables from the acquisition boards, circled in red

in Figure 5- 37.

Remove the four M4 screws from the foot of the assembly (six M4 screws if

the scope is an MSO model). Some of the screws are circled in blue in the

photos of Figure 5- 37. When replacing the screws, torque to 18 in- lbs.
