1 Disconnect the power cable and remove the cover, top plate, and bottom plate
as described previously.
2 From the top side of the oscilloscope, remove the eight cables connected to the
backplane board. One of these cables is the IC fan cable, circled in Figure 5-
22. It is toward the bottom of the backplane board so you need to look down
the board to see it and then follow the cable up to where you can disconnect it.

Remove the four screws on top of the backplane board.
