6 Checking for Leaks
To Check for External Leaks
Check for leaks at these connections:
• Gas supply bulkhead fittings
• Gas cylinder fitting
• Regulator fittings
• Traps
• Shut- off valves
• T- fittings
Perform a pressure drop test.
1 Turn off the GC.
2 Set the regulator pressure to 415 kPa (60 psi).
3 Fully turn the regulator knob counterclockwise to shut the
valve.
4 Wait 5 minutes. If there is a measurable drop in pressure,
there is a leak in the external connections. No drop in
pressure indicates that the external connections are not
leaking.
