Checking the E5810B
Checking the E5810B LED indicators
Table 4- 2 shows the suggested steps to troubleshoot the
E5810B using the LED indicators. If there is an error
message on the front panel display, refer to
“Checking the
E5810B front panel display” on page 86.

All LEDs OFF No AC power to the E5810B. Check the AC power connection.
Power – ON
FAULT – ON
If the FAULT LED indicator is turned ON for
more than 10 seconds, there may be
hardware failure.
Contact Keysight for instructions to return
the E5810B.
Power – ON
LAN (back panel) – OFF
No communication from the PC to the E5810B
using LAN.
Check the E5810B LAN connection.
Power – ON
LAN – ON (flashes)
GPIB, USB, and/or RS-232 –
OFF (during instrument
activity)
There is communication from the PC to the
E5810B using LAN. However, there is no
communication to the GPIB, USB, or RS-232
instruments.
Check the GPIB, USB, or RS-232 connection
and configuration.
NOTE
The FAULT LED indicator turns on at power-on while the E5810B is running
a self-test. If the LED turns ON for more than 10 seconds and there is no IP
address displayed on the front panel display, the E5810B may be
experiencing hardware failure.
