Output Settings and Operation Commands
This section describes the low- level commands used to
program the power supply. Although the APPLy command
provides the most straightforward method to program the
power supply, the low- level output setting commands give
you more flexibility to change the individual parameters.
CURRent {<current>|MINimum|MAXimum|UP|DOWN}
This command programs the immediate current level of the
power supply. The immediate level is the current value of
the output terminals.
The CURRent command changes the output of the power
supply to the newly programmed value regardless of the
output range presently selected.
You can substitute MINimum or MAXimum in place of a
specific value for the current parameter. MIN selects the
lowest current values of 0 A. MAX selects the highest current
values allowed for the selected range.
This command also increases or decreases the immediate
current level using the UP or DOWN parameter by a
predetermined amount. The CURRent:STEP command sets
the amount of increment or decrement. Notice that a new
increment setting will cause an execution error of - 222 (Data
out of range) when the maximum or the minimum rated
current is exceeded.
CURRent? [MINimum|MAXimum]
Return the presently programmed current level of the power
supply. CURR? MAX and CURR? MIN return the highest and
lowest programmable current levels respectively for the
selected range.
