THE

BEST

FROM

THE

EPIRB

The

EPIRB

is

designed

and

optimised

to

be

used

floating

in

the

sea.

But

it

can

also

be

used

in

other

situations.

Aboard

ship:

Place

the

EPIRB

in

the

open,

clear

of

overhangs

Keep

the

EPIRB

upright

(hold

it

if

necessary)

Place

the

EPIRB

close

to

large

structures

Lay

the

EPIRB

on

its

side

Place

the

EPIRB

under

cover

Secure

the

EPIRB

lanyard

to

the

vessel

In

a

liferaft:

Deploy

the

EPIRB

so

that

it

is

visible

outside

of

the

liferaft

canopy.

Uncoil

the

lanyard

and

tie

it

to

the

liferaft,

then

throw

the

EPIRB

overboard

so

that

it

floats

close

by.
