Agilent B1500 User’s Guide, Edition 7 2- 11
Introduction
Rear View
3. LINE input receptacle
AC power cable is connected to this receptacle.
4. GPIB interface
Use an Agilent 82357A USB/GPIB interface or Agilent 10833A/B/C/D GPIB
cab
le to
connect to an external computer or equipment.
5. Module slot
Ten slots are available for installing the modules.
Several kinds of module can
be installed in the B1500A. However, the allowable number to install is different
by the module type. See “Measurement Units” on page 2-16. Also, there is a rule
for the installation order by the module type. See Chapter 3, “Installation.”
If the WGFMU is installed, the following condition must be satisfied by the
modules in
stalled in the B1500A.
Total rating (sum of ratings set to modules) < 60
Rating of module: HPSMU 14, MPSMU 2, HRSMU 2, CMU 7, SPGU 12,
WGFMU 10
For ex
ample, if the B1500A installs two HPSMU, one C
MU, and two WGFMU,
the total rating is 2×14+7+2×10=55.
6. Circuit C
ommon ( ) and Frame ground ( ) terminals
Normally, connect the terminals together by using the shorting bar (Agilent part
number 5
000-4206). For floating measurement, remove the shorting bar.
CAUTION For floating measurement, do not apply voltage more than ±42 V to the Circuit
Common terminal. Failure to heed this caution may result in damage to the B1500A.
WARNING If the Circuit Common terminal is not connected to the frame ground terminal
(for floating measurement), a potential shock hazard may present. Do not
touch any of measurement circuit at any time while a floating measurement is
in progress.
7. Zero Check terminal
Ground reference point of the B1500A.
CAUTION The Zero Check terminal can be used for the service purpose only. For the B1500A
normal operation, leave this terminal open and do not connect anything to this
terminal. Connecting anything can damage the B1500A.
