Installation
Inspection and Installation
Inspection and Installation
This section describes what to do when you receive the B1500A and accessories.
1. Inspect the shipment. See “To Inspect B1500 and Accessories”.
2. Verify the B1500A operation and perform initial setup. See “To Perform Initial
Setup”.
3. Install the B1500A in the appropriate place. See “Requirements” on page 3-3.
To use the B1500A briefly, see “Getting Started” on page 1-1.
To change the Windows logon setting, see “To Change Windows Logon Setting” on
page 3-9.
To change the GPIB address of the B1500A, see “To Change GPIB Address” on
page 3-9.
To allow the B1500A/EasyEXPERT to control external GPIB devices, see “To
Enable System Controller” on page 3-10.
To Inspect B1500 and Accessories
Perform the following inspections when the B1500A and accessories arrive at your
site.
1. Before unpacking any components, inspect all boxes for any signs of damage
that mig
ht have occurred during shipment, such as:
•dents
• scratches
•cuts
• water marks
If you suspect any damage, notify your local Agilent Technologies sales or
s
ervice office.
2. W
hen you open the boxes that contain the B1500A and accessories, check the
components against the contents lis
ts attached to the boxes.
If anything is missing, notify your local Agilent Technologies sales or service
office.
