Step 2: Setting Up the LAN Interface for a Telnet Session
Before you initiate a Telnet session with the Agilent 1200 Series LAN interface, set up the
LAN to use the default IP address for the initialization mode.
The initialization mode is set with three toggle switches. If your Agilent LC contains an
on-board LAN interface, these switches (switches 6, 7, and 8 of the configuration panel) are
located on the back panel of the instrument that has the interface (see Figure 4). If your
Agilent LC contains an Agilent G1369A LAN card, these switches are located on the LAN
card (see Figure 5).
Y To set up the on-board LAN interface to use the default IP address
Set the initialization switches as follows and as shown in Figure 4:

Y To set up the Agilent G1369 A LAN card to use the default IP address
1. Turn off the power to all the Agilent LC modules.
2. Disconnect the device that contains the G1369A LAN card from line power.
