Connecting Instruments to LAN
LAN Quick Start
You can use applications such as VISA Assistant or the Telnet utility to
verify communication with instruments via the LAN.
7 Communicate with Instruments
You can use VISA Assistant
to verify communication with
instruments.
As required, manually configure your instruments using the instrument's
Web Pages or front panel.
5 Configure Your Instruments
You can use the Configuring
Your Instrument
Web Page to
configure instruments.
Use
IO Config to configure the TCPIP LAN Client interface. Then, add
your instrument identifiers to the interface software.
6 Configure the LAN Interface
The TCPIP Devices dialog
box lists devices present
on the interface.
This is an optional step. As desired, you can program instruments via
the LAN using applications such as IVI-COM, VXIpnp, or VISA.
VISA: viOpen (..."TCPIP0::instrumentHostName::INSTR"...)
