Move to the TLS channel of the 8164A/B mainframe. Set the [Menu]
parameters to:
4 Make sure the optical output is switched off.
5 Set the wavelength of the TLS module to
6 Set the power of the TLS to its maximum specified output power (as
given in the Test Record).
7 Switch on the TLS output.
8 Initialize the OSA. Press [Preset] then select <Auto Meas.>.
9 Set the OSA:
•Set Span to 4nm,
Press [Span] then enter the value.
•Set Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) to 0.5 nm,
Press [Ampl], press [BW Sup], then enter the value.
•Set Sensitivity to -60dBm,
Press [Ampl], press [Sens], then enter the value.
•Set Wavelength to the value given at step 5.
