Installing the 86100C

To configure a LAN connection

You can configure the 86100C on a LAN for file sharing and using network

printers. If you do not know how to set up a network, contact your network

administrator or use the Windows XP Professional on-line help. The network

setup is different for every company. Your company’s network administrator

can set up your instrument with the appropriate client, protocol, and configu-

ration for your local area network (LAN). If you plan on sharing your instru-

ment’s hard disk drive with other computers on your LAN, the network

administrator should enable file sharing as part of the network setup.

1 Connect your LAN cable to the rear-panel RJ-45 connector.

2 Start the 86100C.

3 Click Exit on the File menu to close the 86100C DCA application.
