3-2 Maintaining the Instrument
Recommendations for Maintenance Frequency
The maintenance checklist appears in the next section of this chapter. The listed procedures
should be performed as indicated in the Suggested Maintenance Timetable below. The
checklist may be photocopied and should be completed by the maintainer. It should be filed
for future reference. The owner of the equipment is responsible for the performance of the
maintenance activities in line with the schedule below.

Inspect the Instrument, and inspect the cables and
cords for the entire Instrument.
Daily.
Preventive Maintenance for the M3046A Monitor
• Cleaning procedures.
• Testing Procedures
• Clean as needed.

Preventive Maintenance for the M3000A Measure-
ment Server
• Cleaning procedures.
• Noninvasive Blood Pressure Calibration test
• Testing procedures.
• Clean as needed.
• Once per year
• See "Testing the Instrument".
Preventive Maintenance for the M3015A Measure-
ment Server Extension
• Cleaning procedures.
• Replace infrared lamp (if required).
• Replace pump and CO
2
scrubber, (if required).
• Calibration Procedures

• Testing Procedures.
• Clean as needed.
• After 15,000 to 20,000 hours of
use (max. 20 000 hours) or as
needed (typically 3 - 6 years of
use). Replace all three parts at the
same time if all have >15 000
hours of continuous use.
• Once a year or after 4,000 hours
of continuous use.
