Specifications

Check that the grabbers are securely connected to the nodes in the
circuit under test.
Check that the circuit under test is powered on.
You may have pressed Autoscale with no input signal available.
Performing the checks described above ensures that the signals from the
circuit under test are seen by the oscilloscope.
Check that the desired channels are on.

Press On/Off.

Make sure the selected desired channels are on by using the Entry
knob or Select knob to scroll through the channels. Then press On for
each channel that should be on, but is off.
Use Autoscale to obtain an automatic setup for all channels.
If you can’t get any response from the oscilloscope
On the HP 54645D, press the Label key on the front panel and the power
switch at the same time. Release the Label key when the measurement
display appears.
Set the calibration switch on the back of the scope to UNPROTECTED.
Press and hold the two right-most softkeys (5 and 6) simultaneously, and
switch the oscilloscope power on. Release the softkeys when the
measurement display appears.
CAUTION
The two-key-down powerup procedure will default the self-cal factors.
Perform the self-calibration procedure described in this section to restore
the calibration.
