To make frequency measurements automatically
The automatic measurement capability of the HP 54645A/D Oscilloscopes
allows you to easily make frequency measurements.

Connect a signal to the oscilloscope and obtain a stable display.

Press
Time
.
The first softkey menu appears with frequency, period, and duty cycle
measurement choices.

Toggle the
Source
softkey to select analog channels (1 or 2 on
HP 54645A or A1 or A2 on HP 54645D) for the frequency
measurement. On HP 54645D, you can also select any of the digital
channels that are displayed for the frequency measurement.

Press the
Freq
softkey.
The oscilloscope automatically measures the frequency and displays the
result on the lower line of the display. The number in parentheses after the
word
Freq
, for example Freq(1) for HP 54645A, or Freq(A1) for HP 54645D,
shows the channel number (1 or A1) used for the measurement.
