Backplane If a plug-in module will not function in only one slot, the backplane board
should be suspected. Connector failure on the backplane board will be the
most common form of backplane failures (for there are few components on
the backplane). Because the plug-in module slots are all parallel on the
backplane, a shorted connector on the backplane board may appear to be a
